(MARRS-RX7) FWD: Can someone take a look atthis?[Was:Re:HopingIcould get a post accepted.]

Another good question. At first I did and couldn't figure out why in the
heck the thing wouldn't move. I noticed that the pads on those braces are
offset.

Any chance you have the braces for the main hoop reversed?

I thought the same thing too, but it won't move backwards any further. I do
have the rear supports in place and that is one of the reasons why it won't
move back. It also looks as though autopower drilled the bolt holes in the
rear support braces wrong - I may have to weld their holes shut and
re-drill. I'll tell you what, its all pretty frustrating. I wish I had a
pipe bender and could do it all from scratch myself. It seems like it would
be much easier at this point.

I does appear to be too far forward. At first I was having trouble
judging where it should be since all of my cars have always had the
cargo box frame still in them and the main hoop butts up against the
frame pretty well.. But the small circular plate you can see in pic 2
should be in front of the cage foot with the middle bolt hole about 1"
from the seam of that circle piece.. You have the supports to the rear
wheel well in place yet? Also, that circle piece is only glued to the
chassis.. Do yourself a favor and weld in the reinforcement plates
before you bolt the cage in. The opening for that circular plate is a
weak spot..

Thanks for your help Bill! I'll shrink them down a bit more next time.

Sorry Alex, just too big. A Meg worth of pictures times 100
subscribers eats too much bandwidth. So I've cropped and reduced your
pictures and attached them and the original message below. Reduced the
bandwidth by 90% with no loss of integrity. :-)
